Rose hips are a source of vitamin C and are primarily effective against colds and flu. Due to the high content of vitamin C, rose hips have a suppressive effect on various viruses and the development of pathogenic bacteria.
There is twice as much vitamin C in rose hips as in currant fruits.
A drink made from rose hips helps thin mucus, treat a runny nose, cough, and relieves aching joints.
Rose hip infusions have choleretic, anti-inflammatory, anti-sclerotic, anti-scorbutic, and diuretic properties.
